tiny home, big yard.

Because of all the free time lately, I found myself looking through sweet countryside French homes -- again. : )

Sometimes I "travel" around the globe through Google Maps and see homes from here and there, but for some reason (maybe because of my work), I keep returning to the French countryside where there are giant patches of greens surrounding cosy-looking homes. (And no, unless I absolutely have to move to France, I have no plans of living there - or anywhere abroad, really.)
Since becoming a sensible adult, I've always loved the idea of having a small, cosy home. (When I was young and naïve, of course I dreamt of living in airplane-sized mansions!) Then, I figured, cleaning a home would be much easier if said home were "small". A small home, I believe, also allows a family to build stronger relationships as each member would have to be constantly "connected". (Imagine having a huge home where family members are bound to be separated because of all the rooms and space on the property...) Hence, a small, cosy home.

But one that comes with a big yard. I'm not sure if it's due to my love for the outdoors and nature, but a big yard just sounds like fun, truthfully. It's where the kids and dogs (!!) can run around. I also would need space for my herb garden and maybe a tiny greenhouse. Plus, it'd be a great area for family gatherings. All I would need are mismatched chairs (really cute!) plus a loooong table and lots and lots of Christmas lights. Ahh, how dreamy that would be! I love hosting and cooking dinners for people I love, so...
This is a house I've come across a few years ago, and it just tugs at my heart each time I look at this. White picket fence, cosy home, big, big yard. It's simple (and easy to clean, I imagine!).

Some nights it's difficult not to daydream about these kinds of things. I am excited for my future home, which I (and my future husband) can call our own.
