morning commute thoughts
◎ Rather than go off and complain about something beyond your control, try controlling your thoughts and words instead. (Whilst there is nothing you can do about certain situations, there is certainly something you can do with your thoughts.)
◎ "It's not mine, anyway" is proof enough that the person who said it cannot be trusted. (Sample case in point: "This isn't my book anyway. Don't care if it gets damaged." It's even worse when it's more valuable.) Always take ownership (of objects, your work, whatever it may be); you will take care of things better in that manner.
◎ Be grateful for people who belittle you or who are vengeful towards you, regardless of the incident that let to that. Such people teach you to grow and accumulate strength; you learn to be a better person. They, on the other hand, only learn to be hateful.
◎ Never depend on other people for happiness. Keep in mind, everyone is prone to sin (it is man's nature), so expect people to continually disappoint you. Instead, find happiness in life around you that people have no control over. Like dogs who make sad faces when you leave the house and who leap for joy in your arms when you arrive home.
◎ Do not underestimate people. When you do, you end up placing yourself on a higher pedestal. When this happens, you will downsize the worth of the people you underestimate, thinking there's nothing to learn from them. Then pride wells up within you until you eventually become your own god. You stop learning, you lose valuable people, and you lose sight of the real God. (Pride is the root of many conflicts. Really.)
