The weekend that was.
Enough with the emo crap. I had a lovely weekend filled with food and family (favorite pet dog, King, included).
We finally got around to trying Sambokojin's buffet, which recently opened in SM Southmall. We're not a big fan of buffets in general, but we love fine food. By fine, I'm talking about quality. Plus points if it's something new to us. Sambokojin had an awesome selection of very fresh seafood: salmon, sashimi, tiger shrimps, and octopus legs. They're not exactly "new" to our taste, but it's so rare to find a place that is actually capable of delighting our taste buds. (Try living with a former assistant chef in the house -- it is not easy to eat out with one around because of all the food bashing if quality proves to be disappointing.) Anyway, the place is really great, especially now that everything's 'new'. Terrific staff, too! I couldn't help but smile all the while -- at everyone! Haha! Totally worth it for just Php599 per person. =)
Somehow, the place reminded me (just a teeny bit) of Hyatt Hotel's Market Cafe -- but of course they fare ten times better in all aspects. Haha! Market Cafe literally consists of everything delicious, even the (young) European and Asian chefs. HAHAHA WHAT.
I have yet to try Yakimix to see if it beats Sambokojin. Oh yeah! If there's anything that I didn't enjoy fully at Sambojokin, that would be their dessert. I thought it was very dry, for the most part. Presentation was lovely, but that's as far as it goes for me. Next time I visit Sambojokin, I'm totally staying away from the desserts table. Hehe. Also, when I do, I'd better beat my record of five plates. Whoo. I need more training. HAHAHA.
All the stuff I ate. In a span of two hours.
Family time. ♥
The grilling was pretty fun. I kinda want that thing installed in our dining room table! Haha.
Also! OCTOPUS LEGS SUSHI. So so so good! (I was surprised that the ones they served weren't so "chewy" and tough, unlike in other Japanese restaurants. So yay!)
When we came home, I kind of wanted to just collapse on my bed because my tummy was probably THAT heavy. But no! I managed to do my laundry (and turned my new plain white shirt into a shade of light pink, yay me) and played a little with King, who is obviously my favorite dog of the three. We took photos because I wanted to do that before and after thing, thanks to Tumblr. Haha!
King, when we first got him in 2003. And King, now.
His face is much bigger than mine now!!!
Before that decent shot up ^ there, I had to take a gazillion other photos because King is such a troll!!! He kept making these faces and looked away so much and all that jazz. It was annoying, but when I uploaded them onto the computer, I realized how funny they were! Believe it or not, the photo up ^ there was the absolute last one I took because I was giving up on this dog. Hahahaha!
King, the troll-slash-derp dog. I loooooove! =')
And then I spent the rest of the afternoon writing and reading Paulo Coelho's Eleven Minutes in between. I love how the Mac isn't connected to the Internet (because we haven't been using the router) and that its system is sooo old (that even if I wanted to go on the net on the Mac, I'd choose not to) because it allows me to focus on my writing. Naks! It has been a while since I've some some serious writing. It felt amazing. Writing has always been my therapy and despite the headache that came in the evening, I was still able to continue writing until 4:30 in the morning. :') That hasn't happened in a very, very, very long time. (Granted, I have these blogs, but this is more of a journal-writing, as opposed to writing-writing. HAHAHA. It's just different!)
Anyway.
Now I am craving for octopus legs and salmon and sashimi and wasabi. Mmmm.
