Sunday, too soon.
It's Sunday yet again. Time flies. And I'm in front of the computer once more. kgb_ is a little light today, I'm bored with Facebook, and Tumblr can wait, so I decided to blog. I'm very much into blogging these days. :)
We went to church (I lost my beautiful, beautiful ring!!! TT_TT), heard a wonderful message, and went to Makro. We needed to buy a bunch of things before Richie's departure for Hawaii. Basically, he ended up grabbing a bunch of toiletries, canned goods and snacks -- in case he remains jobless for a while. Apparently, we don't want him to go hungry. Haha. I love going grocery shopping quite a lot, but I was disappointed with Makro. They didn't even have cream cheese!!! ADSF#%@)(#*%! And Richie didn't have much canned goods to choose from because the ones they sold weren't his type. So we bought tons of junk food...and yeah, at least they had Cheetos Jalapeños. Haha. We would have gone to SM instead, but there were tons of people there due to the 3-Day Sale. After abusing my credit card at Makro (haha, oh, hello, bills!!!), we had lunch at the family favorite, Sbarro, in SM. That is the one and only place we'll never get tired of eating in.
This is, by far, the coolest photo we've ever had in Sbarro (and we have tons of photos from Sbarro!) So after filling our tummies with pizza and pasta, my brothers and I decided to go "shopping." We were originally going to shop for books (as mentioned in the previous entry) and some clothes (just because there was a big sale going on), but I ended up buying a decent mobile phone for Richie. I ended up getting this Samsung model for him because of the wi-fi feature, which he needs in case he won't be able to bring the laptop. I really do think I spoil my brothers a bit too much sometimes, but I feel so good when I've made them happy, somehow. ^_^ Anyway, I want a decent phone for myself, too! But I need to buy one for Bitok first so he doesn't feel left out. T_T I want to treat my brothers equally as much as possible. And can I just say? We're all babied and spoiled by both our parents, but is Richie getting a good deal or what right now? Haha. He's getting my old digicam, which I bought from my first Christmas paycheck. And if it gets fixed on time, he's getting my Compaq laptop, which I bought after about a year of working in Duzon ('twas a Christmas gift for myself). And I just bought him a brand new phone (whereas I had to save money I earned from being a Student Assistant in CSB to purchase a "decent" phone for myself during college...and before I left for Paris, incidentally). But whatever, I just want my kid brother to settle in alright when he gets on the little island of O'ahu. I did joke around about how he should replace my digicam with a DSLR, my laptop with a MacBook Pro, and the cell phone with an iPhone. Yup, that seems fair enough. HAHAHA! ^_^ I really, really wanted to buy books for and with Richie, but then I told him to just get a library card as soon as he arrives. That makes much more sense, really, because a library card is a lot cheaper. God, I really wish there were public libraries here. I think I'm feeling less sad about Richie flying off on his own. I'm replacing that sadness with excitement. (But that doesn't mean I'm going to cry my eyes out come Saturday.) Less than a week. -- And can I just say?
Nanay is apparently in-the-know with music. HAHA! Richie was listening to John Legend's "Save Room" and had this sudden urge to watch the music video on YouTube. Nanay was just sitting nearby and when she saw the music video, she was slightly appalled with what her children were watching. LOL. The look on her face instantaneously switched on laughter between my brothers and I. She was just like, "What are you watching?! Turn that off!!!" HAHAHA! And I was like, "Umm, we're all over 18 now! It's just a music video." Then John Legend started to sing and she was like, "I like that song!" and started dancing and swaying along to it. LOL!!! But of course she still mentioned how inappropriate the music video was (or the beginning, at least). So funny. And then she went on to say how she liked John Legend's voice, to which my brothers and I agreed. AND THENNN she goes, "But he's not the original singer of that song. That is clearly a remake." My brothers and I basically made the same Ö face. After reading through the ever-so-awesome (but not always reliable) Wikipedia, we have come to learn that John Legend indeed used a sample from 1969 by artist Gábor Szabó. OKAY, HER ALREADY! We were totally amazed. That is all. Then she told us to play more John Legend songs and told me how it's okay if I ended up marrying someone like John Legend. UMM OKAY THEN. I love my Nanay. ^_^ |
