teehee

I bought a treat for myself and I just can't put it down. Yes, I finally decided on the iPod Touch and not a fancy, multi-function mobile phone. Haha. I obviously love it and my parents and brothers want one for themselves as well. Nanay even went, "Gusto ko din niyan!" -- pointing to my newly-acquired gadget, after watching Glee on it. Haha. Anyway, it's been great so far; I've only had it for a little over a week. Working with this little thing is seriously making me want to get a MacBook Pro, which I've been seriously seriously seriously thinking about over the past few months. But it really doesn't seem like a practical choice: common specs with such a high-end price. Mother has also commented with, "After three years you'll want to get a new one because something better is sure to be out on the market." And you know what, she's right. For now, I just want a laptop that functions and would last for a few years (at least!).

I have two laptops in the house now, actually. My beloved Lucy (the Compaq that failed too soon) and Uncle Farmie's 17-inch PowerBook G4 (yes, a then-three-thousand-dollar Apple/Mac product, no less). He just gave it to me when we were in Ilocos. The catch is, there's something in the hard drive that needs to be fixed, which I'm still in the process of doing. So yeah.

I know we have a desktop at home, but it's not the greatest thing in the world. I guess I just want something convenient, something that would last and something that would function well for all our computer needs. Haha. For a desktop, I'm thinking of getting the 21-inch iMac (only because my brothers contract computer viruses more often than the flu!) and for a laptop for myself (and myself alone!), I'm considering a Lenovo (not sure what exact model yet) or a MacBook Pro (which I know is really impractical but could be worth it if it lasts long). Sigh.

All of these thoughts are making me feel guilty, in a way. I feel like I'm becoming a bit materialistic. But seriously, I'll stop wanting when I get a decent laptop for myself. Haha. It's just so...convenient to have one around. I wish my laptop hadn't died, though I'll probably get it fixed (which I've been told is still possible but rather costly) only after I purchase a new laptop.

And no, I won't be using my credit card to buy these wants. I have yet to save for these things. Cash only, please. I refuse to live in debt.

BY THE WAY. The awesomely-cute pink pouch up there was made by my baby brother, the artist one, Bitok. He's the sweetest (even though I had to pay him a hundred bucks for it, haha)! :)
