I want to return to Ilocos!

I had such a great time in Ilocos a couple of weeks ago; I wish I could do it again! I wouldn't mind returning to Ilocos, though it would be quite an adventure to visit other parts of the Philippines. I am always so amazed whenever I visit the province or the countryside. Everything's so fresh: from the air to the food set before you. Best of all, pretty much everything in sight is beautiful. Being on road trips has seriously helped me appreciate the Philippines more.

Anyway, my short vacation was fantastic. We were able to visit some of the really famous "tourist spots" around Ilocos Norte: the lighthouse in Burgos, the giant windmills in Bangui (my personal favorite!), the Marcos Museum in Batac, Paoay Church in Paoay, the Sand Dunes in La Paz, the beach in Currimao. Wonderful, wonderful stuff. The only downside was that my brothers couldn't come along because of school.

New experiences, too: driving through heavily-fogged up roads along Tarlac at 3AM, riding the kalesa at Laoag, doing a long drive for the very first time (though it was just 45 minutes!) and getting inside and at the very top of a lighthouse! :)



I think I'll skip vacations abroad, as originally planned. I'd love to be able to see the countless beauty Philippines has to offer.
