The granny behind the wheels.

I’m a slow, careful, nervous driver. Yes, you may overtake, tricycle. :)

So earlier this evening Pops (with mother and Bitok) fetched me from the office. Of course, since I'm in the process of learning how to be on the road (note: not "driving") behind the wheels, Pops thought it best for me to drive home.

It was a success for the most part. For one, Baby Juki's engine did not die on me (I love you, best car ever ♥) as it usually does once or twice when I'm driving. I can only hope that I'm handling the manual transmission thing better -- clutch, change gear, gas or clutch, brake. And well, THANK GOD we did not crash into another car or a post or anything. (Seriously, I feel like God puts a shield over me -and the car- whenever I'm driving. You're the best, God!)

I've decided to get used to being a slow but careful driver. Filipino drivers are crazy and reckless as they are and I seriously doubt they need another reckless driver on the road. Plus, it would be the right thing to do. I don't care if I end up driving like an old granny; at least I am (and I will be) doing my part on the road.

My brothers, Pops and I were talking about driving the other night. He was telling us about how we'd probably be more reckless than he is (believe you me, he is a reckless driver!) but I told him that I would discipline myself to be a careful driver -- just like most people in the States. (That is, after all, how Pops learned to lessen his recklessness on the road: driving for 11 years on US soil means following the law!) So yeah, I'd like to be able to follow proper "driving etiquette" by following the law and letting everyone else overtake me.

This granny behind the wheels will let you overtake, no questions asked.
