how eventFUL.

I seriously think that my week starts off on a Friday. Perhaps it's because Friday is my busiest day (with a total of fifteen classes!) at work. Or maybe it's simply because it's when I can sigh and say to myself, "Tomorrow's Saturday! No work -- time for fun and being lazy." And I thank God because a good, non-working day awaits. Hmmm. Just a thought.

---

But yes, the days that passed had been both awesome and not-so-awesome. Haha. It's been one of those really crazy weeks. A week that begins on a Friday, at least.

---

Well my Friday class/teaching schedule was supposed to take a turn to the loony world last week: my regular Friday schedule says I'll be having a total of fifteen classes (counting the 40-minute classes as two, of course). I was totally unprepared for it, but lo and behold, due to the lapses in technology, our server was having problems of its own. (Read: unstable network connection.) So whoever it was that decided, he/she thought it would be best to fix the problem on Friday. Hence having tons of canceled classes. So I was spared from the dreaded killer schedule.
(A screen shot of my 'before' and 'after' Friday schedule.)

And then Saturday rolled around. I awoke to the sound of my cell phone. Bea had sent me a text message saying lunch will push through over at their place. I got up at 11am and lunch was at 12noon. Haha. I went straight into the shower, got out and informed my parents that I'll be leaving and won't be back until the day after (because I was to spend the night at Reva's). So anyway, I went over to the Bañares' and ate and ate and ate. LOL.

The best part, of course, was that I was able to see my lovely church friends again. I LOVE them loads and I missed spending time / hanging out with them since our families go to different churches now (haha, which is another long story). I ended up staying at their place until about 8:30pm -- the thing is, I'd originally planned to stay only until 6pm because that's when Reva's party was set to begin. Haha. But oh well -- I loooove and missed my church friends way toooo much. So yeah. :)

AND THEN I went home (to get some clothes to sleep in since I hadn't brought any with me at Bea's). I ended up getting stuck in traffic in front of the stupid mall (SM Southmall) for about half an hour. The ten-minute ride to Reva's turned into 40 minutes and I arrived at her place at about half past ten at night. HAHA! Well that was another FUN evening! I LOVE my high school friends as well! ^_^ It's always a blast to hang out with them. I ended up eating and eating and eating just the same. HAHA! We weren't supposed to sleep but we snoozed off at about 3am and got up at a little past ten on Sunday. Ahh, crazy! I love Reva's house --- I'm so at home there. Haha!

But I had to leave before lunch because some relatives were scheduled to come over for lunch. Got home, showered and had a big lunch on banana leaves! OMG that was fun! Hahaha! :D Fun and difficult because I suck at eating with my bare hands. I seem to have difficulty keeping the rice in between my fingers. Haha! But yes, it's always nice to see family from afar. Hehe..I LOVE my Ilocano roots! :)

So that was the weekend that passed. I probably gained about ten pounds from all the eating I've done. HAHA! No kidding!

And then came Monday. While most people dread Mondays (I do, too, sometimes), I was rather happy and upbeat. However, I just had to frown when I got out of the elevator and walked into our office to find some NBI (National Bureau of Investigation) roaming around the floor --- with freakin' cameras shooting in our faces!!! To make the long story short, those dudes were from the Anti-Piracy sector of the NBI who decided to visit our lovely workplace to check out our Microsoft softwares. HA! They then 'discovered' that we were 'allegedly' using pirated versions of Microsoft so they had this VERY UNCOOL idea to seize our computers on the floor. [Note: these NBI dudes, I heard, supposedly had search warrants only. How they ended up unplugging our PCs and covering them up with sticky packaging tapes remains a mystery! Only in the Philippines..]

So anyway, after those guys told us to end our classes in a snap and shut our PCs off, our team ended up just talking and having a picnic on the floor (haha) by TL's workstation. (Because the cameramen seriously annoyed the hell out of me as they were trying to capture me and my teammates in our brooding moments, I ended up sorta-screaming at him and lashed out about Human Rights and Privacy violation! HAHA! Well he went away immediately. UGH. I told him he was supposed to focus on the computers and his men seizing them, not the people whose computers were being taken away. Sheesh.) So there.

In all honesty, various things ran through my mind that night:
- Should I start looking for a new job?
- I don't want to find another job, I'm too lazy. (HAHA!)
- If I look for another job, I'd like one that I can call a career.
- The Korean bosses will probably 'settle' things with the Filipino investigators (read: money settlements).
- The company is a BIG IT company, so they probably won't stop operations anytime soon.
- If we don't have computers to have classes with, does that mean we won't work for another few days? Can I go on a vacation?
- I can't go on a vacation because if there's no work, then there's no pay.
- Do we need to come in to work tomorrow?
- Man, a vacation would be so much fun...

HAHAHA! :) But really, there was no real fear of...anything. I wasn't afraid that I'd lose my job or that the company would close down. I wasn't afraid that I won't have money to pay for my DSL + phone line every month. I wasn't afraid of the possibility that I'd have to look for another job. I swear I was so calm inside. No fear, no feeling of panic, no worries. I suppose that's another proof of my trust in the Lord. I guess I knew deep within that He wouldn't lead me into ruins or any form of destruction or failure. FAITH does that to you, I suppose. :)

After about two hours of doing nothing but being in a rather half pensive/half joking state, we were all asked to go home and return the next day -- same time, same place, same work stuff. Turns out, they've 'settled' things (however it was done) and were seizing only 30 computers instead of the original plan of taking away all 300 units. We returned to work the next day and it seemed like nothing happened. Everything was way too normal. Haha. But I'd rather have it that way, of course.

Now the only souveneir I have left is this damn paper one of those men taped onto my unit (too bad I didn't have my camera with me when all the chaos had gone on, haha):

---

And now that things are back to the way it previously had been, we're all back to working our butts off and losing our voices in our classes. HAHA! There goes the vacation I'd thought up in my head..hehe! :)

I've got TONS of classes tomorrow. I still need to prepare lessons for some of them, but I'm so excited for Saturday that I can't be bothered to do work anymore. LOL. I don't know what's going to happen over the weekend, but knowing that I won't have to conduct classes and make short reports about them is enough to make me want to skip a Friday. :)
