"men initiate; women respond"
Sometimes it seems like "life would be easier" if a woman could just go up to a man she's interested in and say, "Hey, I like you."
But God did not design women to be so bold, to be the one to initiate, regardless of the man's "shy nature". Men have been designed to lead from the very beginning (I'm talking Genesis 2 beginning), and real Christian men should uphold this privilege and responsibility.
After all:
For the husband is the head of the wife even as Christ is the head of the church, his body, and is himself its Savior. (Ephesians 5:23)
The sitting still, in gentle quietness; the temptation to manipulate situations and make things "seem more obvious so something will finally happen"; the needing to be patient; the lack of assurance; the slow creeping in of insecurities - these are things Christian women fight against. But God, only God, is able to replace these with true, quiet peace.
Trust. Trust that He will give you what is needed in His perfect time. (insightful written piece, here) |
