thank you, chocolate,

for making my throat ill.

--

During the wee hours of morning on the 14th (read 2AM), as I was patiently waiting for the last few parts of the Twilight movie to finish downloading, I was munching on a box of chocolate-filled Tee-Ups and a bar of Choco Mucho. On the 15th, I had a bunch of chocolate-flavored sweeeeeets all throughout the shift. Oh, plus the orange-carrot-pineapple-something extremely sweet 'juice' in a plastic bottle. Haha.

(Crappy quality, thanks to my phone's camera :D)

Lo and behold, I am now sick. I blame a big part of it to these chocolatey goodness because my throat hurts like hell that it's so hard to swallow even my own saliva. That must mean I have some sticky sugar stuff left somewhere in the middle of my throat. ARGH. I feel like there's something growing in my neck or something from my swollen throat. *sigh*

And it's sooooo cold that last night, at work, I was having the chills for, say, four hours. My body literally shivered and I've had to go back and forth from my station to the ladies' room just to get under the very warm & soothing hand dryer. When I came home I didn't even have the energy to sniff around for food (and I've only eaten a sandwich the entire day!) and covered my entire body in TWO quilts and stayed there until 12nn today. That makes about..12 hours of sleep? LOL. Mind you, my joints were aching like hell as well. So you can just imagine the extreme body pain I've had to put up with. I hate being sick!!!

I've been told that I may have an internal fever. That's supposed to be worse than having the flu? Well..whatever it is, my body is just so OFF..

Then again, I must be getting better because it's past 2am and I'm still in front of the computer. Haha! And my throat still aches like hell. It probably wasn't such a good idea to drink a can of Mountain Dew earlier. Haha! (Well I didn't finish the entire can..I just couldn't swallow anymore. What a waste. =/)

Anyway, despite the sickness/illness/icky feeling, I still found a reason to smile today: my 13-year old student actually cracked up in class!!! He is such a great kid, I love him! His cracking up (his laughter was seriously contagious because I ended up cracking up myself in class) was so unexpected, too, because he's always so quiet in class. Not only is he super smart, he also has a great sense of humor. :) [[We were working on adjectives this evening and I had him describe his best friend. My student, Byeong Ju, went on and said, He is short. Then he ended up cracking up because it must have seemed like he was making fun of his best friend. Hehe! It's a little shallow, but it's one of those, you-had-to-be-there-moments.]]

And Andy has a stomach flu of sorts. And he nearly died in class! Hehehe! We were cracking up so much, too, despite our illnesses. He suddenly froze in the middle of class and goes, Chris! I am in pain...it's like...pins and needles are poking my stomach! And you could see the intense pain in his face (webcam) and we still couldn't keep a straight face because he blurts out with, "See, Chris? I value this class so much that even though I'm dying I still attended our class..." And more groans of pain and laughter at the same time. Hehehe! He even went on to say, "Tell my daughter that she will be mine foreverrrrr..." That Andy guy is crazy! :D

I loooove my students! :)

And I shall get off this damed thing and get some REST now, thank you very much.

It's the weekend!!!!
I'll try my luck at staying in bed for a solid twenty hours. :D
